Until his last moment of exile,
We will look to the east in remembrance.
Join hands across the world
And journey from the lands he loved
To stand side by side
At his resting place
On this anniversary of his birth.
His fond Feast of Friends
Gathered once again
To grant an unfulfilled wish,
A simple, quiet request.....

"I'd like to do a song
Or a piece of music
That's just a pure expression of.....joy
Pure, like a celebration of.....existence
You know.....
Like the coming of spring
Or the sun rising
Something like that,
Just pure unbounded joy.....
I don't think we've really done that yet."

.....Until today, December 8, 1993.

Happy Birthday, Jim!
